About China King

Nestled comfortably on East Michigan Avenue in Jackson, China's King offers diners a cozy spot to experience authentic Chinese cuisine without needing to soar across the Pacific. The unassuming exterior might not catch the eye immediately, but those in the know have been flocking here for the culinary treasures hidden inside. Once inside, a cheerful ambiance greets guests, with vibrant red decor and the soft clink of chopsticks providing a welcoming soundtrack to the dining experience.

China King prides itself on a menu that stretches across the breadth of Chinese cuisine, so tackling it might seem a bit daunting at first. Frequent visitors often rave about the General Tso's Chicken, a delightful concoction that's crispy yet covered in a beautifully sticky and tangy sauce. For something a tad less sweet, the Kung Pao Chicken doesn't disappoint, offering a spicy punch that’s balanced nicely with crunchy peanuts and fresh vegetables.

No trip to this Jackson gem would be complete without sampling their dim sum selection. Each dumpling and bun is crafted with care, making it a must-try for both newcomers and regular patrons alike. The barbecue pork buns, steamy and sweet, seem to fly out of the kitchen. Then, there's the shrimp dumplings that literally melt in one's mouth, leaving behind traces of ginger and seafood that linger pleasantly on the taste buds.

And for those cold Michigan evenings, the hot and sour soup acts as the perfect companion, warming patrons from the inside out with its spicy and tangy notes, rich with mushrooms and tofu. As if the main courses weren't enough, dessert rounds off the experience perfectly, with the traditional fortune cookie accompanying each bill – a sweet end, both literally and figuratively.

Located at 1105 E Michigan Ave, this spot might just be the favorite go-to for locals seeking quality and authenticity. Town folks and those passing through alike have given consistently favorable reviews. It's not rare to hear phrases like "the best Chinese food in town" whispered among satisfied diners, leaving one with the impression that China King's reputation is well-deserved.

In essence, whether it's for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, Chinatown King offers an adventure for the palate. An unpretentious setting with truly delightful offerings, visiting this spot feels like embarking on a mini-vacation, sans the travel hassling, within the comfort of a charming Midwestern town.

I have had the chicken lo mein noodles and chicken fried rice a few times. It's always hot. Very good. It is now my favorite place to get authentic Chinese food

I get the almond chicken, crab ragoon and an egg roll and it's been amazing everytime I've ordered it. Will order here everytime. Love this place. Great service and great price. Big portions and excellent food.

China King is (IMHO) the best Chinese restaurant in Jackson. The food is high quality with generous portions. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. I live on the opposite side of town, and I passed two other Chinese restaurants on my way to China King. The food is well worth the drive. One caveat, I wouldn't say it has a good dining atmosphere. It is clean, but not set as a place I would take a friend to dine in. T

If you need a junk food fix with large portions and a good price, this is the place for you. They make amazing pork fried rice and General Tso’s Chicken. The only downside is the environment isn’t very inviting. The area is rough and not the safest to travel alone at night. I understand they’re a fast service but they could at least make the place welcoming and comfortable.
